I have been a fly and light-tackle angler in South Florida for over 40 years. In that time, I've held a U.S. Coast Guard Captain's License, and have guided in the waters of Florida Bay in Everglades National Park and in Biscayne Bay. I expanded my horizons to Florida's Treasure Coast, after Moving to Stuart, Florida in 1999. In the diverse fishery of the Indian River Lagoon and St. Lucie River and nearby beaches, I fish with everything from fly tackle to conventional surf tackle. In addition, I flyfish for largemouth bass in the southern Everglades, and have fished the coastal waters of the Northeast U.S., Texas, Louisiana and the Carolinas, with both fly and light tackle. I consider myself a well-rounded inshore saltwater angler. I am not a one-trick specialist. Florida waters have too much to offer year-round not to sample it all.
I am currently a member of the Florida Outdoor Writer's Association (F.O.W.A.), received a F.O.W.A. lifetime Achievement Award for Communication in 2007 and Excellence in Craft awards for fishing feature writing. I was editor of Shallow Water Angler magazine from its inception in 2003 until its closing in 2009, and was managing editor of Florida Sportsman Magazine for 13 years. In addition, I hosted both Shallow Water Angler and Florida Sportsman television shows from 2004 through 2010.
My strength is communication and instruction. Whether you are primarily a fly fisher, light-tackle angler, or both, I am confident that you will benefit from my services, products and information. I welcome your patronage.
